I know people who had their monthly bill go from 50 to 600 when the war in Ukraine started. Almost everyone I know who had a variable-rate contract (which up to then was usually the cheapest option) got fucked for a few months there.

"The majority of your neighbors have this contract" headass. I did the math and I told my gf at the time I think I picked the right one and I'm satisfied. Less than 100 USD for my house to be 68 degrees 24/7 I'm perfectly fine with that
