Multiple thing multiple things are true at once, that's just reality. If you don't recognize and accept that, then you'll be very easy to manipulate because someone just needs to get to you first with a true statement and you will base your entire worldview off of that and pretend all the other things that are true must be lies.

I can't disagree with anything you said. Carl once put himself down as a classical liberal until it hit him that the state, as it is right now, does not hold his best interests at heart.
What's more likely is all-in on Nothing Ever Happens. Our state talk tough but don't usually deliver, even if there are a few examples of them demonstrating some form of efficiency.
