I follow this Italian dude that posts endlessly about his hatred of Trump; I am amazed that someone who lives so far away could possibly be seething so much about a US leader. Surely there are worse, more harmful leaders out there?

Today he is absolutely raging about how Trump has caused the American job market to collapse and how the American food supply is collapsing and all hell is breaking loose. I look around and things don't seem so dire... And I live in a big, shithole city. 🤷

It’s just more noticeable since he’s not a native and only knows what the screaming on the screen says.

I see a lot of Europeans who "care" about the US. But mostly about our politics.

Italy is about the size and population of the West Coast and has the same immigration issues.

People should tend their own backyards

Everything I have read about the issues in Italy, it really seems to stem from the fact that their youth are abandoning the country to go live in other European cities. That is unbelievably sad considering the historical significance of Italy.

@Jagahati @Zonz when living abroad I realized they only got US info from CNN international and AP. Local media just copies the stories as is and translates to local language.

The most extreme leftist trash propaganda is sold to the world as unbiased facts about the US.

For sure. I try not to mute because of politics, though. While it can be a grotesque experience, at the end of the day I feel like a more informed person if I listen to the entire spectrum of insanity. 😄
