Canada is a psych ward

@grey I was listening to a guy (Canadian) lament that one primary attributes of most Canadians is that they're servile. They never push back against the state in any meaningful way. That it's like an entire country of people with Stockholm Syndrome.

@Eiswald The Quebecois do, at least more than the others. Anglophone Canadians on the other hand were originally British subjects that were just placed here by the empire and consolidated to block the northward expansion of the U.S. There's no history of rebellion or cohesive nation-hood in our history, the country was created as an administrative region of the British Empire.

@grey is the friction from my walking in the woods going to ignite the forest?

It's true, and it's based on history. America was founded by the craziest, bravest, strongest, smartest Europeans, the ones who were willing to come here when it meant building civilization from scratch. The descendants of these people were willing to go to war with Britain over tea tax.

The people who founded Canada were still really strong and impressive, but not as crazy or brave or headstrong as the Americans. They weren't going to rebel over some taxes. They were more akin to the early 20th century immigrants, who never truly understood the heritage American spirit. They were and are more docile people.

@theshortbus @grey mfw from a Mayflower (or earlier) family

@Eiswald @theshortbus @grey my english anscestors came over in the late 1500's, the german ancestors were anabaptists and came around the mid 1600's.

@grey >YOU SELFISH SMALL MINDED PROLES!!
Time to bring back guillotines. Buy them from Qubec.

@grey @Eiswald If Canada was a structure designed to administer debts without building a nation, why did the Canadian Pacific Railway exist?

@yockeypuck @grey @Eiswald to connect BC to rest of canada , BC originally planned to merge with the US , alaska then trade network all the way to russia

@Turdicus @grey they've enacted similar measures, and removed them as conditions improved, all the way back in 2001.

the difference is you have grifters on twitter able to make hay out of it now.

@grey So the British literally only created Canada to cock block Americans from their rightful northern clay...

@Turdicus @grey fuck off, @jeffcliff

you were only right in the beginning of covid but the virus mutated to be less and less harmful in order to spread more easily. they did not need to keep the measures for as long as they did. and they didn't keep them in effect for the George Floyd rioters, effectively, so y'know about then is probably when they should have dropped the charade totally.

you can take off the mask now, buddy. it's over.

@jeffcliff @lichelordgodfrey @Turdicus @grey

No. What we should have done is opened fire on the BLM with live rounds.

More of this, and less freaking out over the 2025 version of the flu. . .

Can confirm.

The land my great grandfathers lived in may be lost forever at this point.
