Rent-a-Whore S1
I don't need to explain why.

@SuperSnekFriend tfw no gf to rent but actually fucking her

@SuperSnekFriend either high school dxd (satanic bs) or High School Prodigies have it easy in another world (modern prodigy kids introduce globohomo to isekai world)

I saw how that manga ended. Fucking retarded.

@SuperSnekFriend This piece of dog shit.

The most infuriatingly incompetent mc i've ever seen. She literally fucks up everything she does and the story has the gall to expect you to root for this dumb cunt.

@Tamamo
The trannies from AniDB and MAL disagree with you. :^)

I hated Wolf's Rain. It was depressing in a way that didn't feel enjoyable to watch.

A close second would be thousands of 12 episode shows from the 2000s that started off paced like there was going to be all this intrigue and shit, but then it's like "oh shit it's episode 11 ok then the bad guy showed up shit it's episode 12 everyone lived happily ever after the end!"

Apparently some people thought wolfs rain was the best thing ever, but I just don't like permenant death and sadness until deus ex machina.

Unlike today, you really had to take a lot of time downloading a big series like that so whereas a shitty series today you can drop, a long show like that back then you were in for a penny, in for a pound.

@SuperSnekFriend From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman

Massive plot cuts compared to the manga, and some small but important details too.

Read it though, it's gud.

@Gundog
That's a shame. I enjoyed what I saw, but I guess that should encourage me to read the manga.

@SuperSnekFriend Dance with Devils. Very tropey otome musical I watched with my sister because her friend forced her to watch it.

Very boring blank slate female MC has hordes of males falling for her because she has a magical macguffin imbedded in her. Writing was so flat and on the nose that I had her female best friend character pegged as a church agent from one interaction.

The most enjoyment me and my sister got from the series was us sitting around and making fun of it.

@SuperSnekFriend I guess its all just 2DEEP4ME and i'm too dum

@Tamamo
No, the joke is that AniDB and MAL trannies have complete and utter shit tastes, giving high scores to bad anime and low scores to good anime.

@SuperSnekFriend I was skimming the forum and their still glazing that piece of shit more than a decade later.

You know their shitlib retards because their cheering for the guy that murdered the MC's friends, stole their baby and raised her to be a human weapon so he can use her to genocide MC's city as revenge because muh oppression.

@SuperSnekFriend I tried to think about this for a moment, looking at many of the anime I've watched, and I really don't think there's any good answer for "worst" anime in my eyes. I mean, I try to be generous if at all possible when it comes to creations so that takes an effect. However there's just a lot of anime that are uninspired, boring, try too hard, etc.

I'd say the cake for most utterly baffling watch was Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara. It tried too hard to be generic harem, then it tried too hard to subvert generic harem, thus creating a batshit ending that holds up about as well as making the entire series a fever dream at the very end to subvert expectations can. Practically no value to anything, seems like an author trying to be popular.

Happy Sugar Life gets a nomination for being a tryhard anime. It's like the author wasn't informed that to make an emotionally interesting dark story, I have to be able to be invested in the characters. When everyone is a psychopath and every action is trying to escalate the edge it really feels more like a comedy than anything else. Characters are introduced entirely for the sake of being crazy or having a tragic backstory before they either are killed or forgotten.

I'd include Gekidol but I can't remember anything of it. At all. I remember it was a mess and nothing made sense, but that's it, not a single detail comes to mind.

Petty inclusions are Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! and Otherside Picnic. Those anime butcher the qualities of the LNs. The former by truncating everything and trying to make it more marketable, the latter by refusing to understand horror. I could probably go on listing various anime I have issue with but I'll stop at this.

@SuperSnekFriend If you don't know what you are missing, it is pretty decent, but the manga is astonishing. You absolutely should read it though, you will really like it.

Considering how plots get drawn out, the arc from about Ep 3-6 could have gone the rest of the season based on the manga, easily. I thought that was what they planned, then it was over almost as fast as it began. I was genuinely shocked and pissed, I still don't know if I will pick it back up, maybe once I'm not so sore about it.

@SuperSnekFriend Haruhi. The endless eight.

@SuperSnekFriend@poa.st
under ninja, because it was American

it made me actually recoil in disgust. That said I can tell shows are going to be bad from the get go, the only one I watched expecting to be good and never got good but quite the opposite is Vivi Flourite Eye's Song. It's a musical show, the only thing it needed to do is deliver ONE good song and it couldn't do that, I remember watching the last eps so see if it was worth even seeing the ending of the story, but even that was disappointing.

@AndrewFork
/animu/ and Loleron' stream would pitch a fit at you for hating Under Ninja. (I agree with you. It was ugly.)

@sj_zero
Couldn't stand wolf's rain enough to finish it.
Starship operators wasn't bad or great.

Yeah not a lot of those one season series really stand out.
@SuperSnekFriend

@SuperSnekFriend Attack on Titan. Starts out pretty cool, dog shit ending.
