When someone leaves fedi for xitter we just call them a faggot and move on with life, I guess bluesky devs haven't implemented that yet
I use Xitter and Fedi in equal measure. Different audiences, different purposes. I don't know what purpose BlueSky fulfills.

BlueSky's only purpose is being anti-Twitter. In EU, little hitlers congregate on Twitter, so soys and chicks join BlueSky in protest.
AT Proto, on the other hand, serves a distinct purpose of making self-hosting more efficient with PDS and lexicons. If a good generalized front end for independent PDS indexers emerges, it will be a fun social network reminiscent of the old small blog ecosystem. As of now this effort isn't really worth it because Pleroma is lightweight enough, and 300 single instance users are already connected.

It also means that amnesty bullshit was just that. I still don't know what actual reason for my ban is.

basically, bluesky is a centralized relay for discovering and publishing the data. so you can host it yourself, but if bluesky bans you (or, worse, "the community" decides you are bad), then no one will actually fetch your data. it's like they wanted to make a version of twitter that encapsulated reddit's groupthink.
