"Why do they need a law change to stop policing tweets?
They didn’t need a law change to stop policing shoplifting, car crime & burglary."
The police chose this path.
Why? Because sitting at a desk and "catching bad guys" for saying mean things online is easier and safer than going after people who break actual laws that violate other people's rights.

@sj_zero @carolen To a great degree, certainly, but they're also following the orders of politicians, who are part of the U.K.'s hostile since 1066 ruling trash.
Anarcho-tyranny is an iteration on the old pattern of a high and low class alliance against the middle, shameless in its embrace of violent criminals. Not sure how far back that goes, the Russian Revolution at a minimum.
@carolen Can we just stop the police until we have some grown ups in charge?
@KeepTakingTheSoma @carolen Profoundly ridiculous.

It's the civil rights laws. You can get in trouble by arresting people from protected groups, but not for arresting dishwater normies.
It's the "Ferguson Effect."
