CLEMSON, S.C. β€”
Clemson University released a statement Friday about social media posts regarding the Charlie Kirk assassination.

The statement came after Attorney General and candidate for governor, Alan Wilson, posted on X about a Clemson professor making what Wilson called "vile, reprehensible comments" about Kirk's death.

> "We stand firmly on the principles of the U.S. Constitution, including the protection of free speech. However, that right does not extend to speech that incites harm or undermines the dignity of others. We will take appropriate action for speech that constitutes a genuine threat which is not protected by the Constitution."

What?

Why the needless mental gymnastics trying to twist the bill of rights into a pretzel over this?

Just fire them and call them disgusting humans. Why bring a nonsensical warping of the first amendment into it?

Free Speech is what you say, write in your own defense, or in the defense of those who depend on you like your children.

You may "speak truth to power"

Then it stops being Free Speech, and it becomes something else.

Its plain and simple.
