The little guy loves blowing out candles, so I got a large candle, but it's obviously a bit unstable, so I made a candle holder out of PLA. Here you can see the two parts. I started with a stock half sphere, and took away a cylinder from the center. I added a bit of a bevel to the cylinder with a slider.

You could make a lost wax casting in bronze or aluminum.
One thing I learned from experience, if you use plaster (gypsum) for the piece, you need to dry it out all the way to anhydrite.
Plain casting plaster will have a couple H2O molecules for every CaSO4, and it will flash into steam when the molten aluminum hits it..
