@soapone @sj_zero @azzerac Maybe the big (around an inch in diameter) metal floor high-low beam button was phased out in the 1980s, which this page is supposed to be about? I didn't drive in that decade, so I would have missed the change from it being overt in 1960s-1970s cars.

I certainly wasn't around and driving... lul.
I've driven a lot of properly old cars though. I think that high/low beam foot switch was mostly on old trucks.

My first vehicle was an '83 Bronco II that was long past its prime, it didn't have the foot switch, but I'm pretty sure late 70s F150s and the like would have had them. The Bronco II wasn't based on the F150 platform but the ranger, so it already did a lot differently.
