Damnit, the last brand that offered a normal amount of fat in a chocolate milk disappeared, now it's just the organic $5/half gallon stuff left,... Why is all the chocolate milk low fat? What is the intersection of people that don't care about sugar, but are very concerned with fat intake to the point of significantly compromising the product? Given, i just buy the big jug of half and half and make chocolate milk with that now, but , it's annoying..

@HonkHonkBoom

It's the jews jewing. low fat milk is basically water. it's the least amount of milk they can give you and still call it some sort of milk

@freemayonnaise But seriously, WTF even is this? Half what? and what? obviously not cream and milk, so wtf is it even?

@HonkHonkBoom

I dunno, just milk protein and not milk fat?

Eating animal fats is good for you, which is why they don't want anyone doing it. I've switched to half/half and even 18% now, just tastes better and it's pretty hard to get a lot of fat by drinking too much expensive milk

it's half bull milk

@sj_zero @freemayonnaise and all bullshit.. And don't let the Bush boys anywhere near yer cattle, they Connecticut Yankees playing cowboy..

@freemayonnaise yeah, but that 18% table cream/light cream is far too rare, never see it at most stores.. and the heavy cream has all kinds of additivies now.

@HonkHonkBoom Not around here, got about 4-5 choices, including 18% great value at walmart, but the local dairy is carried a lot of places too and only slightly at a premium, they also have 3.25% choco for a bargain price if i drive all the way over there

@freemayonnaise @HonkHonkBoom

Ok I'll share what I know to my NAS family.

Commercial Chocolate Milk is a "waste" product.

Well at least in Canada. A lot of regulations around fresh white milk, but Chocolate and those milkshake products not so much.

"Old" near expired milk gets taken back to
Factory from stores, sugar and chocolate are added, allows extended life to be added & sold again.
I had a buddy who got a job there and near knocked the shit outta our hands when we saw is drinking it

@Zahadoom @HonkHonkBoom

that's some bullshit you were fed
the logistics of shipping it back refrigerated and reprocessing and sending it out again is absurd, esp with the control of milk production and how much is simply dumped

@freemayonnaise @HonkHonkBoom

They are stripping all the fat out and selling you chocolate milk water..

@freemayonnaise @HonkHonkBoom

Up here you will always see these sales of 1liter chocolate milk cheaper than white. 99cents usually.

On summertime you will find thats where you get spoiled chocolate milk.
If people's fridges are a little shitty... chocolate milk spoils quicker. Plus you gotta think about the putbacks are grocery store..stuff that's sat on the shelf for and hour. And they put it back.
All of that and groceries stores open fridges is shit.. less days remain...

@Zahadoom @freemayonnaise ohh yeah, check the date, never grab from the front, check for swelling, spoiling produces gas, and, give the jug a sniff,. they wash them, but the stink of a bad batch don't wash off, at least if ya got a good sniffer..

@HonkHonkBoom @Zahadoom

you're suffering from some psychosis
plus most milk is sold in cartons and bags not jugs

maybe you have some shitty stores around you that sell bad expired milk but most of the "checking" you're talking about is normal for most products not just milk

@freemayonnaise @HonkHonkBoom milk is delivered by the dairy, even today to most grocery stores. When that milk man is dropping off new milk he takes back the stuff that has less and 7 days..
My buddies job was to open said cartons and bags and jugs and dumb them into the vat to make the chocolate milk.

You might think it's a logistical nightmare but thats how it is done.

@Zahadoom @HonkHonkBoom

You can keep repeating it, maybe it was true for your anecdote at one time, but certainly not how it's done around here. There isn't "a dairy" other than a building that sells icecream/cheese/milk, all the farm cow milk goes to a major provincial central megafactory now and gets put into brand packaging (former Dairy's name) and distributed. I was kinda bummed when I found out but the "dairy" still has "it's recipe" in the milk with its name on it.

@freemayonnaise @HonkHonkBoom

Yeah that's what im talking about... that is how its done NOW. Im in the GTA man, massive city.

That IS how its still done, at the megafactory
