@ninafromcanadaeh Idiots wouldn't get independence if the scheme worked.

Alberta would be appropriated. It would be a territory until enough MAGAts move there to vote for statehood.

@LostInCalifornia we should criminally charge them, but we did not for quebec's eh

@ninafromcanadaeh Did the Quebecois go to a foreign power that was openly bragging about wanting to occupy Canada?

@LostInCalifornia no they postured about separating.. they knew the USA would not cater to french, eh 2 referendums tho

@ninafromcanadaeh That's not illegal activity then.

You can talk about secession; acting on it is a different matter.

@LostInCalifornia they still tried to break up canada, just cause they failed does not make them less traitorous

@ninafromcanadaeh Not how the law works though. You have to commit an illegal act, not just talk about it.

@LostInCalifornia attempted murder is still a crime

@ninafromcanadaeh attempted murder requires action, not talk

You can't just ignore the United Nations because you don't like something..

@LostInCalifornia quebec took steps to separate, they just did not succeed

@ninafromcanadaeh Polling for separationism is low in Alberta. Profit from oil sands is high.

Quebec ran a referendum. Not a crime.

Asking for foreign money to support a coup is.

@LostInCalifornia They ran a referendum to break up canada...

@ninafromcanadaeh Which is legal.

Has this broken your brain?

@LostInCalifornia no. working for government broke my brain

@ninafromcanadaeh I get that.

If it helps: Referenda are not legally binding unless the laws supports it becoming binding. I think about 1/2 of the propositions California passes have become law; others not. The courts tosses quite a few.

Think of it as "asking a question". What's done after the question is answered is what matters. If Quebec took up arms, that would not be legal - violation of sovereignty. If the Canadian government had invaded Quebec if they hadn't taken up arms, that would also be illegal (also a violation of sovereignty. but only under international law only enforceable at times).

But then it all depends on who wins.

@LostInCalifornia quebec never got the 50 plus 1 % and they did not ask a clear question in any event

@ninafromcanadaeh @LostInCalifornia Third time might be a charm....

@Fullycaffeinated @LostInCalifornia the quebec separatist party has separated into 2 parties and neither focusses on separating from canada anymore

@ninafromcanadaeh @LostInCalifornia Sort of. QuĂŠbec Solidaire is incurably woke and no one really pays attention to them. The Parti QuĂŠbĂŠcois is doing well and the leader has promised a referendum in the first mandate which might start after the elections in October. They are very much focused on separation.

@Fullycaffeinated @LostInCalifornia that is too bad,. we need quebec's anti religion to save the rest of canada

@ninafromcanadaeh @LostInCalifornia We keep getting called racists and xenophobes for it...

Also I don't think the PQ are fully on board with the tranny stuff.

@Fullycaffeinated @LostInCalifornia it is appalling that anyone did get on board with tranny stuff
