I've heard that artificial strawberry and banana flavour are based on wild strawberries and an obsolete cultivated banana variety respectively. Having tasted both artificially strawberry flavoured products and wild strawberries, I believe that bit but idk about the bananas. Maybe something like that is going on with grapes.
