Advocate for freedom and tolerance even if you say things I do not like

Adversary of Fediblock

Accept that I'll probably say something you don't like and I'll give you the same benefit, and maybe we can find some truth about the world.

Ah... Is the Alliteration clever or stupid? Don't answer that, I sort of know the answer already...

So here's a fun idea: Superheroes as written by the woke left, and they're dropped into chicago or detroit.

"Please! Save us!" Oh...well.... Uh.... You see I can only fight white villains.

@Humpleupagus It's really interesting to realize what they're doing:

Take whatever is important to people, and explain why that thing is why they need to get their way. People trust science, so "do what I say, trust the science". People trust democracy, so "Do what I say or it's dangerous for democracy"

It's something that happens everywhere -- When I worked for a heavily union place, everyone said they should get what they want because the union wanted it. When I worked for a safety conscious place, everything was a safety concern. When there was a real ball busting top manager, everyone said that guy wanted them to get what they want.

Thing is, those individuals doing that ended up looking extraordinarily transparent and extraordinarily petty.

@Shadowman311 @weaf This is chinacountry boah!

Merry Christmas, my fediverse frens.

@intengineering Don't spend it all in one place!

@jeang3nie I don't recall saying that they couldn't.

@jeang3nie There are lots of things that are valid, but since we're abandoning liberalism and instead "trusting the science, damn human rights", then under that ideology why is one valid choice that might have consequences for others wrong but another valid choice that might have consequences for others acceptable?

@gear Overlord season 4 in 2022!

Something absurd like 89% of violent rapists and most violent criminals in general are raised in single parent households, particularly single mother households.

No I'm not saying anything bad against those moms, raising a kid is hard. It's hard for two people, forget about one.

But why exactly would a group of people who are claiming "follow the science" possibly advocate for the destruction of the atomic family? The data is in, the science is settled, growing up with a mother and a father isn't just good for the child it's good for society.

@intengineering Bill Gates also said that Windows ME was the most stable version of windows ever.

@AnotherStag This is why central planning always fails, why attempts to centrally plan economies inevitably end up in the situation we're in right now, and why only through freedom can you achieve abundance.

There's a common trope in western "back in time" literature where you "invent gunpowder" by saying "get me some sulphur, some charcoal, and some saltpeter!" as if most people know where they could get some saltpeter and sulphur right now if they needed it. That's a massive undertaking, and you don't even have a bullet or a gun yet, let alone someone who can actually craft something like that.

@BugmanJones They'd have to make a movie that doesn't suck, and I don't think that's in the cards.

@hn100 It'll be fine. We'll just print more power!

Just let me get something straight for a minute.

You guys are experiencing 7% inflation year over year, and there's no indication that that's going to be going away anytime soon.

And so.. now Congress is talking about sending everyone in America another $2,000 check?

Are these people stupid or are they just stupid?

@TechNews The virgin AWS vs. the chad self-hoster

@TechNews

"Look, beige people can't do math, you can't expect them to as a matter of law!"

WHAT?

It shouldn't be a surprise, racism with a smiley face is the law of the land in Canada. Eliminating that racism with a smiley face would be a third rail in politics, so we continue to as a matter of public policy proclaim that races are different and all are inferior to the mighty white race.

But it's ok, because as a matter of policy we feel really bad about it.

@boomcoast @houseoftolstoy It's so stupid as to be offensive.

You have the government come in and forcibly shut down productive output, and then forcibly add trillions to the money supply, particularly directly into the pockets of consumers. After that, to blame anything *but* policy for inflation is absurd.

This was so predictable that I predicted it almost 2 years ago at the beginning of everything.
