The academic process is not the scientific process. There's a great video floating around fediverse with an old scientist talking about his experience deprogramming postgrads.
Could be espionage, could be that the powers that be are pushing companies to operate without proper maintenance, increasing the risk of catastrophic failures.
In the art of war, it is essential that you be the one to pick the battlefield. Say what you will about the Democrats, they're experts at choosing the battlefield.
I could be convinced that dysphoria is a thing at that age, but how can you even do research on such a thing in such a political environment?
It would be like being in Germany in 1938 and trying to do research about the jews. What exactly do you think the outcome of any such research is going to be?

Dug my oculus rift out of the closet. It's a tech that sounds amazing on paper, but once you put the unit on you find it's a really exhausting thing. Besides the fact that you're using your entire body to play these games or even to just do basic navigation, I find that it's just taxing being in the virtual world.

I don't hate Musk, but he's a shyster. While charging people to watch him eating a bowl of dicks, he'll tell everyone how it's going to transform humanity and bring them to new horizons.
Science is my jam.
But science isn't politics, and the moment they intermingle, politics will overpower science every single time.

Japan is a couple decades ahead in many ways. I suspect that when their boomers fade away, they'll be one of the first to get the next boom caused by falling house prices and rising incomes.
Thanks for reminding us that we have nothing now.
Thanks, der fuhrer and his Pomeranian lap dog in a turban!

tbf, doesn't really affect the men.
"Oh no, I gotta shower with a biological woman. whatever will I do. My dainty sensibilities shall surely be tainted."
