My city has been completely out for months. Minor miracle we've been able to get a bottle here and there after going virtually everywhere looking for something.
I always wonder if these death march positions are salaried so overtime is free of charge to the company.
If that's the case, someone who doesn't actually know the actual cost of perpetual overtime might come to the conclusion that it's in their best interest to work everyone to the bone for 23 hours a day and sleeping under the desk.
(Pretty clear in reality that overwhelming data shows overwork rarely results in more and better work)

Musk has the world's largest car company been market cap, and one of the smallest car companies by sales. The reason that he's made so much money is Central economic planning gone absolutely amok, not because any of his companies are particularly good.
Problem is, when you've won so completely by becoming the world's richest man -- even if it's largely unearned -- you start to believe your own hype.
I think that really applies to most of big tech. They think that they are the winners because they are so brilliant, but really they just happened to be in the industry that received unprecedented benefits from the government and from central bank largesse by being the hot new thing during a debt bubble.

There's caffeinated crystal light on amazon that has been a game changer for hydration for me. You can use just a bit to give the water a hint of flavor and it makes it easy to pound back a lot of water.
Musk is one of a lot of people made rich by government policy. The big question will be whether those policies continue after they pretend to fight inflation for a while, and whether they can continue to inflate the souffle using the same policies in the short to medium term, or if another one will take it's place.
I see videos on YouTube "is housing about to crash?"
Which is sort of like seeing a video "will the titanic hit an iceberg?" After it's broken in half....

The problem is the sort of society that would give a participation trophy.
It's a society that doesn't recognise that some things are good and some things are bad, that there's such a thing as merit and that one should strive for and be rewarded for merit.
Postmodern society sees no distinction between eudemonia and hedonism, and that's an indicator of a decadent society. Unless there's a cultural change, the modern world will have to collapse.

had to double check for a moment to see if this was brands.town.
I get a kick out of it when I get reported to myself.
It's like "Welp, guess I'm shutting it down folks, pulling the plug because some rando decided they didn't like my post!"

The other thing is that for an extra 2 cents they can put whatever logo they want on your product. I experienced that one first hand on a project where we were buying parts from China. The factory was more than willing to put a fake CSA logo on the product to help us install it despite having no such certification.
CE isn't really the one you'd want anyway. That's just a symbol saying that the manufacturer claims to follow european standards, but it isn't anything meaningful. By contrast, something like a UL logo will mean that they actually had to get certified as conforming to UL standards.
Would be really interesting if the direct result of such legislation was people just left big Tech.
It would be sort of like "mission accomplished"
