The last movie sells your next movie. A few bad movies or TV shows can crash and burn your franchise.
doubt woke but good would hurt anything, but woke and bad is like watching crappy Christian movies that are 90% message about accepting Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior and 10% crappy movie.

"I decided it was time to become the one capitalist in the town. Eventually they made me mayor even though I didn't want them to vote for me. I ran ad campaigns pointing out that I killed kittens for sport but that just made people vote for me more because my opponent killed people for sport."
I feel like the press is trying to create tay 2.0
Just like they published that hit piece on the fediverse.

It's always hard to figure out because fediverse instances are so varied. I think at this moment there's like 22,000 intances.
Neoconservatism as characterized by a belief in the use of American military power to promote democracy and protect national security interests is opposed by many factions across the board. On the other hand, there are factions on both the left and the right that if they don't explicitly support neoconservatism implicitly support it by supporting all the same wars and the like.
Neoconservatism has done some really smart work this political cycle tying their warmongering to all kinds of other causes. Now if you think America shouldn't have bases in 70 countries it's because you're against all the current things.
Always remember that the powerful have entire organizations filled with the world's smartest people getting paid a good wage and given unimaginable budgets to figure out how to get us to consent to their crap, and how to get each other to hate one another for slight differences in opinion.

as weeb trash this is highly appealing to me. I picked up the light novel for maximum weeb trash appeal.
Huh, that's odd. I follow you (obviously), so if you've used it before you'd expect I'd see it.
I've found some really interesting users through hashtags so they do work generally speaking.

Hashtags work with posts the instance knows about, so this is the first time my site has seen it used so only your post shows up.
Oddly enough, the site works fine except certain very specific things. Profile works, but not going in certain ways.for.example.

One of the things that actually pisses me off is these people coming in and demanding something someone else built immediately and fully cater to them.
It's like... If you want to go build a 200 year old school that has never had any affiliation with anyone you don't like, go found it. Good luck.

I don't know why, but it gets confused sometimes. It works well generally but sometimes gets confused and shoots a 500 for no good reason. This is what it looks like normally.
Yes, lotide is only more ideal as a reddit replacement which is why I run it. I'm interested in seeing groups being implemented later on, seeing if that ends up a good replacement for reddit style conversations

It's really easy to get caught off-guard with different systems and end up relying on someone else's largesse for key services. Arguably, DNS is still a risk factor for everyone on the fediverse, but for now that's still not too dangerous. Once it becomes too dangerous I'm sure someone will come up with a decentralized alternative.
Could be a really cool resource in areas that don't have internet. You could have a self-contained box with all it's own systems, and when you log into the wifi hotspot it would have a page that automatically opens up a hotspot page listing all the services available on the unit. Imagine, you're at a kids camp or something else with a local population but no Internet access, you could give people the ability to use their fancy smart phones for local communications despite lacking outside connectivity.
It's not modern for sure. I'm oldschool so I like it. The original fbxl.net is still hand coded html/css
Lotide is pretty impressive for #1 and #3. The html on lotide is so straightforward that it gracefully degrades to the point it can be displayed on nsca mosaic (I know, I checked)
"Archaeologists have found these strange devices, which they believe the people of the era worshipped as Gods."
