Advocate for freedom and tolerance even if you say things I do not like

Adversary of Fediblock

Accept that I'll probably say something you don't like and I'll give you the same benefit, and maybe we can find some truth about the world.

Ah... Is the Alliteration clever or stupid? Don't answer that, I sort of know the answer already...

Crimea belongs to Jeb!

I feel like that's a patent that never should have been granted, since I came up with a similar design about a week after learning about op amps, meaning that it was obvious to anyone with a basic knowledge of electronics. It's one of the purposes of op amps ffs...

Oh neat a wii u

Had an interesting idea about a sort of hive mind civilization, and the idea of somebody who is mentally ill joining such a collective. Eventually such a person would join the collective and a peaceful group would suddenly become violent with all the injected dysfunction.

Nobody could have predicted crop failures in 2023! (Except everyone)

I was under the impression it was for SEO purposes. You create websites that look legit enough, and that gets you higher ranked on google (at least under its original algorithm), so fake websites are beneficial and you can make a bunch of money selling SEO to companies who want to make sure they're doing well.

Why media is so boring and unimaginative: Nobody is taking chances and doing anything new and interesting, they're following the same playbook we've followed our entire lives.

The boomers built this road, and Gen X follows it, and the Millenials follow it, and Gen Z follows it, and Gen Alpha is being raised on it. It's conservative despite what it purports to be because there's an orthodoxy that cannot be violated.

It's so conservative that despite things like "first black [X] in movies/TV" having been a problem already solved 60 years ago, and things like "first gay [X] in movies/TV" being solved 40 years ago, companies are constantly falling over themselves to pretend they're the first because they're following a generations old playbook that ran out of pages long ago.

Why else do you think America has the oldest president in the country's history? Why else do you think the American congress is the oldest in the country's history? Why else do you think the American senate is the oldest in the country's history?

Does this look really like a country (and by extension a culture) that looks like it's embracing new ideas and change?

>The problem is that this is conflating the handful of truly deranged women

Can confirm, multiple women wanted to marry me and I'm so anti-social I run several fediverse instances.

That's a good point. This is about individuals actions and character, not entire types of people.

If refugees come over who just keep their heads down and act as good citizens, I think most people who have problems would not have problems (besides the tactical issue of exactly how many people you let in at one time).

I went to college and was friends with an Iraqi refugee (in 2004) who was an Engineer there and snuck out with his family. He was re-educating so he could get a technical job in this country. Great guy, his story of putting everything on the line and not knowing if he was going to be captured or killed in order to escape and give his family a better life was inspiring.

The powers that be equating a guy like that to a bunch of rapists and murderers is scandalous.

"people who entered the country illegally for no good reason" isn't a race.... Or is it?

It's ok when everyone else does it.

See: "if you mildly disagree with me about anything you're literally trying to murder me and so anything I do is justified morally"

Rufus is such a great tool in that regard. You can turn off all the arbitrary system requirements and have it automatically create a local user account.

What's wrong with the High Intensity Tesselator for Light Entropy Reduction?

Sort of and yes.

When lavos gets its tits out it'll turn your world white.

Since I'm running a half dozen federated services and I've got an IQ of like 87 and the attention span of a toddler, I find it really confusing when people are claiming it's hard and they're not even running any services themselves.

[Admin mode] Not sure why, but I've been seeing some odd outages during the day that aren't actually outages. Everything continues to be fine, I just can't see the stuff.

Added some dos and ddos protection, let's see if that helps things out.

Laughs in 60kb post limit
