Advocate for freedom and tolerance even if you say things I do not like

Adversary of Fediblock

Accept that I'll probably say something you don't like and I'll give you the same benefit, and maybe we can find some truth about the world.

Ah... Is the Alliteration clever or stupid? Don't answer that, I sort of know the answer already...

I'd pay thousands of dollars for a crispr treatment to flip the mighty mouse gene that makes you stronger, leaner, and live longer.

These policies are ultimately genocidal and suicidal. Stuff like food and heat isn't a luxury, it's required to not die and if these people got their way a lot of people will die lacking food and heat.

But also, the policies aren't real. We stop making things because it takes energy, then get China to do it for us. China(then any other country willing to sell its environment for money) becomes the west's painting of Dorian Gray, taking on the environmental consequences for our consumption while we can walk around looking angelic.

I remember earlier this year when people were pretending climate change in Hawaii and in the Yukon were equivalent and must be equally responsible for both sets of fires.

If it's -40C and you raise the temperature by 1.4C (climate change per century according to their data), it's still really cold. If it's 40C and you raise the temperature by 1.4C really hot just got even hotter.

Famous last words

I want to get something like the Raspberry Pi 400 and hook it right up to the living room TV.

You want access to the Internet? You're gonna be surfing with both parents watching, tyke.

"In the event of a dildo, we will always use the indefinite article 'a' dildo and never 'your' dildo"

I'd actually accept the idea that Trump isn't a conservative. He's a 90s Democrat. There are countless video examples of him espousing relatively progressive ideas, and relatively few of him really espousing conservative ideas. Even how he actually ran America is pretty liberal. How many Republican presidents would have loaded up lead bullets during the summer of love?

"bitches don't know about my dick" meme that says "Bitches don't know about my IDDQD IDKFA IDSPISPOPD"

The fediverse without NAS isn't a fediverse I want to live in.

"what?? VIRGIN is evolving!"

"VIRGIN has evolved into MISOGYNIST!"

I saw a post of someone saying there was "no evidence" of corruption.

So now we know where all these blind fediversers we're putting content descriptions are, they're Democrats.

I believe it's just the way they call it. My Corolla was part of a recall, they just needed to replace the airbag module. Recalls seem to happen all the time, because it doesn't mean they're taking the cars back forever, just until they fix the thing.

The craziest thing is they seem to think think this is the path to keeping power, but we're seeing an unprecedented swing to the right -- not just in america but around the world because so many experiments have failed so catastrophically.

They push back with the same arguments but after having seen what the consequences of certain policies are the smug sense of superiority isn't fooling anyone anymore. Next year could see a sea change in North American leadership.

One thing people don't realize is how little it takes to be exceptional. Many people are just terrible, so just being ok is exceeding all expectations. Then if you can be ok for a long time then that's like being a rockstar.

For folks without a supercomputer, matrix conduit isn't as shiny as synapse but runs reasonably well on low end hardware. You'll want to keep registrations off by default though because it lacks anything like captchas for it and so you can become a spam hub quickly. :/

Worst case scenario there's at least domain blocking or defederation, and that's assuming threads doesn't do it for us since we're icky wrongthinkers.

I tend to agree. That's why it's "if it shows up in these markets". There's lots of cheap vehicles that you can't buy at any price because they're only being sold in other markets like south asia or africa.

But it sure would be nice. I think a lot of people want to see more basic affordable choices.

When I was building my life, I didn't have anyone to make plans with -- I was in a city I'd just moved to that didn't have anyone I knew within an 8 hour drive, I made plans with myself. "I'm going to this thing. If you want to tag along that's ok, but I'm going either way"

Nobody is coming to save you. You can only save yourself.

The first step is to make plans to go out and do stuff. Especially stuff that has something to do with other people(doesn't have to be people you know). You should strive to always have some sort of plans going on. Once you start looking it becomes clear there's a lot of stuff you can do whatever your budget range.

Step 1 by itself can cause things to start happening. I ended up having some crazy times just by going out a couple times (the thing you never know is which times are going to be the things that pay off). I met the friend who introduced me to my wife by having tea with my land lady (who had a granddaughter). The granddaughter ended up going on a bunch of adventures with me and I met a bunch of women through her. Another time I went to the bar (and I'm the opposite of a bar guy) and it resulted in some crazy times with like 3 girls just because I was there and I was new. I think I said something to this girl in a crowded line in front of me like "Hey! Personal space!" and she thought that was hilarious and we ended up hanging out.

If you're going out and not really connecting with anyone, the next step becomes to strike up a conversation. With who? Well, not with the hottest girl in the room if you're reading this advice! You find the most nonthreatening people in the room, like an old couple or something and usually you just ask something or comment on something. Sometimes something that simple can start some crazy stuff up. Last week I was getting my tires changed, and in the waiting room I ended up chatting with a couple people for hours (how long does it take to put on some bloody tires?!) and learned a lot about them because we were stuck there anyway and had some stuff to talk about.

Opportunity is the father of invention, and the only way you're going to achieve the things you want is to try to create opportunities. Along the way you start to realize you're having the adventure of your life. :)
