@RaHoWaJoe @veff @kc-poast It's a corporate equality/equity thing. All employees have to be treated the same because it's FAIR. So if you have one guy that's doing the work of three people, you need to treat him the same as the guy that's half-assing his job because it's FAIR. Both have to be treated as replaceable cogs because it's FAIR according to corporate policy. Everything is standardized, and everything that isn't on those standards isn't allowed to be seen as a positive or negative.
@WoodshopHandman @RaHoWaJoe @kc-poast If you've ever spoken to business majors you'll know this is explicitly taught as good practice. The goal is to increase profit margins at any cost, including the long term survival of the company. According to economic nerds, it balances out because the companies that don't do that βbecome dominant blah blah blah, but they fail to understand that it's every company doing it simultaneously. That's why hand tools are such low quality compared to the stuff grandpa has in his garage, and why appliances break after a couple months of constant use.
The job market situation is really bad right now but the part that really makes me feel crazy is that people don't believe you until they're forced to job hunt themselves. I didn't believe it either but now it's driving me insane trying to convince my friends and family how bad it is and they just don't listen. "Oh, if I lose my job from layoffs or whatever I'm not too worried. I've always been a good worker, it will be fine." but they just don't get it yet.
Even so, this seems like the worst of all options (moving necessary infrastructure from State owned to foreign State owned), and should seem like a critical national security issue to any healthy nation.
SEE?: Libertarians' purpose only ever was to sell you out to jewish interests.... "privatizing" means selling out to jews... https://nitter.poast.org/anarchyinblack/status/1947381... ...

Imagine warding off the Mongolian horde side by side with your neighbor then being told you need to go back to fighting each other..

Seems that most people get really hung up on the common sense perspective that these companies are hurting their brand and losing money.
Obviously that isn't a deep enough understanding.
Maybe something like this would help:
"What if someone offered to give you a new job at a higher salary but you have to start insulting your current boss and wear the jersey of the sports team you hate?"

this is a misunderstanding of how power works; Nike didn't put out lgbt themed stuff because it was going to make them boat loads of money, they did it because that was demanded of large corporations.
Tech billionaires just didn't realize the deal that was being offered. Musk walked away from his deal, so any future one will be markedly worse.

Replit, the company whose AI "Agent" deleted a user's production database, has promised that its AI "Agent" will no longer delete users' production databases in the future.

Yarrrr..... the system currently uses the same database for test and production, with no built-in rollback support.
When using an entirely experimental technology, this is kind of a bad idea.
