Voting is just a terrible way to make decisions.
Even Athenian style "democracy by random selection" is far superior to popular vote, and I'm fairly convinced that every "western democracy" has a secret elite cabal running it because just leaving things to The Average Voter is flatly untenable.
Perhaps a better model is democracy amongst business owners, where their employees and families of employees count toward their vote. At least then decisions will be made by actual decision makers instead of feels-feelers.
