Hurt Locker and Black Hawk down aren't mocking the war machine playfully, but they do a pretty good job of revealing the inhumanity and banality of it all.
A former coworker, 10 to 15 years older than me, once told me that he thought Doctor Strangelove effectively saved his life. He saw it as a turning point in popular opinion against the war meaning he was never drafted and sent to foreign land to die.
I know there are modern movies that show "the horror of war", but they still seem to portray it as necessary.

"Begin paying down debt" this is a fools errand at this point. Ross Perot was the last shot at preventing infinite runaway debt. At this point you may as well keep the money printers going until doing a rug pull and eliminating the fed and USD entirely.
