Meant to attach this to my earlier comment..

> Eliminating the Iranian Islamist terrorist threat that has been waging war on America for half a century.

Pretty sure this is what Washington was worried about when he warned against foreign entanglements..

What specifically is good for the American people in this context?

Don't know what you're talking about but this reads like a tweet from Trump on Truth Social about his MAGA base..

> deciding for many others who can communicate

The problem has always been that the definition of who is "right" shifts in any culture (hence the "overton window") and in creating gates you will eventually find yourself on the wrong side of the gate you created.

"Are we going to palliate and excuse a palpable and flagrant outrage on the right of speech, by implying that only a particular description of persons should exercise that right?

Liberty is meaningless where the right to utter one’s thoughts and opinions has ceased to exist. That, of all rights, is the dread of tyrants. It is the right which they first of all strike down.

To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker."

@abhayakara @benroyce

so don't follow them. you're not going to see their posts based on who you follow. my question is why do we have to block servers cause people like your "family" is on there? why do we have to make sure someone on your server can't see what they post?

not federating means deciding for many others who can communicate, when having no algos does so much of this work. we browse freely and avoid shitty sites without our browser having such limits. decentralization works.

remember, this stuff wasn't just created from nothing in 1962. You can see it all over for decades.

You didn't have McCarthy because it was a minor problem. There were tons of communists not only in hollywood, but the government too.

Anyone else notice this?

people understand that is is expensive, doesn't help them, is ugly and they are going to be stuck paying the bill.

BREAKING: America Lets Chinese Tankers Go Out Of Infinite Mercy

Reminds me of Plan Trusters on X claiming we've won, me:
>"Great! What did we win?"

Who is going to care?
If the guy who got stabbed was Mafia then sure, shit gonna happen.
If he was a White Nationalist there'd be Section8 fires.
If he was a Jew, every one of the mayor's campaign donors would be on the phone promising to pull support to avoid a nasty boycott...

But he's a Marine, who cares about a Marine?
The Marines don't care.
The president doesn't care enough to do anything more than tweet.
Nobody cares -> Nothing happens.

>Public schools are out of control and the teachers are horrible.

This seems to be universal. At one time people would defend at least their local school but the education waters have been so fouled that no one thinks the places should be funded at all (system burned down, and parents can start again from the ashes).

"I hope the department of Justice launches a through and serious investigation"

*narrator voice*

"But the department of Justice would not, in fact, launch a serious investigation into the matter.."

"It's supposed to me as a doctor"

Wut? He says that as if it is a normal explanation..

> “Only the fake news could come up with that one,” the president added. “I just heard about it, and I said how did they come up with that? It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better and I do make people better.”
