Interesting take. For me, the fediverse is like crickets.
Rarely do I get interaction which sucks because I'm trying to get away from reddit. not to mention my BIGGEST fucking annoyance with the fediverse.
There.is.no.context.
it drives me bat shit crazy with all these conversations and replies that make no sense.
especially with the comments being first before the actual post?
so fucking confusing

Hmm that really makes me wonder. Bc I'm looking at it this way. So there's two types of ppl, you have ppl on reddit who like to talk about and ask questions on certain things and topics. that causes interaction and engament because there is a specific 'thing' being talked about. Therefore making it easier to interact.
With the fediverse, this one's gunna be a little tough for me yo explain bc I use reddit daily and rarely the fediverse because of the annoyances I mentioned above.
the fediverse to me seems more aimless if you don't know what you like or what you address on here for. because instead of topics and communities, you can only follow -people- I like reddit bc its anonymous and about anything really, what I don't care about though is , -following- someone and then the only 'content' I get is random shit from what ever they are talking about that day
does that make sense?

Yea i think so too. I think that might be what I don't like about the fediverse. I don't want or care about following people, I want to see and talk about the content. So when I'm on here scrolling the questions I'm always asking myself is "What? Why? What are they talking about?" Then I have to commit to reading that entire post and comment thread to make sense of it. I feel like the that's where the disconnect is at least with me.
FBXL Social is running soapbox, which by default shows a twitter like feed, but can show context by clicking on the "expand this post" button.
Friendica defaults to showing threads first which is a bit nicer, but overall the soapbox experience worked better for me.

I've got a cron job which auto-updates the back-end and front-end weekly. Now I'm just trying to figure out why the translation isn't working, feel like I'm 99% of the way there.
Man, if I could customize that mine would be totally sick. It'd have all kinds of cool mods. People would come from all around to see my butthole.
