OK, here's a question re: trump being arrested:
Do they understand that this is how they conjure their boogie man?
Do the people setting this plan in motion understand that this will cause the next Trump figure to be ruthless and have an all or nothing attempt to take on power?
Or have they not thought that far ahead, and they are just bloodthirsty for short term power?

I can only thing one of two things:
Either they want to create their Boogeyman so they can crack down hard on society (the Reichstag fire method)
Or most dems are so old they don't give a flying duck because they'll be dead before the consequences play out.

I can see part of this being an attempt to fan the flames to flush out anyone who lashes out.
But long term, anyone who wants to pursue power as opposition will understand that they will be crushed if they dont secure total victory.

Yes exactly. Which means the next opposition candidate to attempt it will have to be ruthless in a way that Trump wasn't.
