It probably is. But my email is linked to my IRL identity and last time I checked I needed it to make an issue on gitlab so...
Most of my server software auto-updates weekly including soapbox and rebased which update at like 4am each Sunday so if the update fails I'm at home to fix it.
I may be wrong, but isn't muting where you continue to see their posts but they don't show up in your notifications?
