@Hyolobrika what problem
@Hyolobrika well, most of fedi has it already solved with fediblocks and moderation
@Hyolobrika im not a problem to anyone
Yeah, and I'd love to join one of those servers but last time I was on one I got banned for bullshit reasons.
@Hyolobrika well incivility is subjective. some people may perceive the things you say as not civil, similarly some things you find not okay may not be a problem for others
ultimately you have to either find a community that largely shares your views or you have to find a compromise between protection from hostility and your personal freedom. at least on fedi you have a choice unlike on corpo platforms or just society in general

Online moderation (incl various forms of defederation) is good and all, but there's too much rule of whim and not enough due process.
Some things that might help:
- logging moderation actions and notifying those sanctioned (already done in many cases but not in enough)
- allowing appeal
- maybe a full-blown jury system if it's worth the effort
Communities can pick and choose from these depending on their resources.
One thing one could do might be to make a list of forums/spaces that rates them on these qualities.

It's hard to stay civil when you're in an environment of massive incivility. Also there are worse things than sarcasm, as I'm sure you're aware.
@Hyolobrika Sure, but saying something is 'obvious' without explaining what you know to those who don't know comes across as being an arsehole in my book.

@Hyolobrika @lizzy Yep! One project I'm working on right now is to create a quasi-generalizable protocol for dispute resolution.
@Hyolobrika That part is easy, by being nice.
