Let us, for the moment, take Elon at his word.
That would mean he wants to replace only the high tech jobs, while us Americans can have the *menial* jobs back.
A lateral change, at best.
@Bleukitty except that's not what they're doing https://x.com/NoVA_Campaigns/status/1872825587330629697
@Bleukitty read who Elon is, in his own psychotic man baby words https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1872860577057448306
Maybe they just want to import foreigners at lower wages..

@threalist @Bleukitty no maybe about it
I took it as the American education system needs revamped. Which is absolutely true.
What I was taught in HS regular classes is now not even taught except in AP or advanced classes.
It's also a matter of discipline of the students. Some acting up in class don't help with the learning environment.
What's the answer to that? Teachers can't do anything.
@Lori @Bleukitty it does, but Elon doesn't care abou tthat. Just pretend to recruit the "best and brightest" while instead swamping us with tech workers regardless of merit.
This 'woke' crap has got to end!
Being told you're special just because you have a stronger skill set, doesn't mean you are automatically worth more -- prove it!
Quit whining and get the job done.
@Arcalian He may have been wrong to say what he said, but their basic analysis of American culture's attitude about learning and work has always been true over my lifetime. I've bemoaned it all my life.
This isn't the reality.
College grads are struggling to find normal jobs at any rate. Many are just dropping out the workforce.
Blaming it on "kids these days" is turning a blind eye to a massive issue. When an entire generation delivers uber eats to each other and lives in the basement, is it more logical to blame them all as individuals, or to question fundamental aspects of society?

One thing that enrages me about the skilled trades is that governments put on ad campaigns trying to get kids to want to do skilled trades, but in reality when an apprenticeship job is actually advertised, hundreds of people including people who are fully qualified to do the job through education they paid for themselves apply. "Oh, we need more grants for apprentices!" no, we need more apprenticeships.
@DianaSez and we are the ones who wanna fix it, while Elon wants to perpetuate the problem for his own ends. Like any Democrat.
@Arcalian @Lori @Bleukitty Is Vivek a mistake? No, he's not. The call centers bug me. I can't understand them, but it's clearly changing. I had an Indian waitress the other night & couldn't understand a word. Elon did not commit a crime. The problem is deep-rooted in education. Congress made the rules. In running a multi-billion dollar business, you use the talent that's available & it's a success. Lest we forget, the left used this narrative against Trump for hiring Hispanics.
Corporations love to talk about how employees have no loyalty anymore, but it goes both ways, and people are given too many reasons to not be loyal, and few reasons to be loyal.
@Java @Lori @Bleukitty Vivek showed his colors when he said that only he could save Trump from prison during the primary. Trump gave him a second chance. It's not that what he said was unkind. It's his reason for saying it.
@Arcalian It's ego, but everything bears watching these days. Sometimes people just need to be taken down a notch. Now, Modi is a problem. I blast him from time to time on X, for all that it matters. He's in bed with China and the deep state. The caste system is disgusting.
