Actually kinda based.
Orwell is cringe.

@cjd
Not everyone can be reading Spengler as a teenager. Different books for different skills.

Also.... I only read animal farm for the first time like 2 years ago.
@PNS

Orwell did a great job of mapping and unmasking various elements of tactics used.

@cjd @PNS @ned

Orwell was a Socialist

That kind of explains it then.
It's like a life-long funeral for socialism by a socialist who can't just face the fact that socialism doesn't work.

@cjd @PNS @ned

Yeah, he is in total denial. He scapegoats government for what the people inevitably demand that creates abusive governments.

Sort of like Americans voting for entitlements...

If Orwell is cringe, Ayn Rand is repulsive. Imagine a future where females like that one masturbate on 50% of the pages, and that future is here.

Like what I often say about socialists hate boner for Hitler:

There's nobody who hates socialists more than other, slightly different socialists.

As a general rule, the competition is most intense between things that are most closely related, which is why White people do not compete with the Irish.

Socialism = Cringe
Capitalism = Cringe
Libertarians = Cringe
Monarchists = Cringe
Democracy = Cringe
I think Feudalism is all we've got left.

@ned @sj_zero @amerika @PNS @cjd anarchism and dadaism are still on the menu.

@jeremiah @amerika @PNS @cjd @sj_zero
Have you seen people that call themselves those words?

woodchipper material in most cases.

@ned @amerika @PNS @cjd @sj_zero Anarchism is a term stretched to the point of meaninglessness -- it can be socialism, communism, syndicalism of various flavors, libertarianism " " "... but it can also mean, in the simplest, rawest form one who rejects coercion in the ordering of society, and can extend that to mean one who rejects order itself.

I used to use that word to describe my own view, which is that the state (or any organization) has to make a case for my cooperation and participation; the fact that I'm born here entitles me to be here, and I owe no mafia with a flag any consideration, let alone allegiance: it's up to them to make a case. If that case is coercive, it justifies resistance at the minimum.

In practical terms... this doesn't work because almost any two people can organize to overcome a single person which renders any sort of ideological/political position and its arguments moot; even so, I still more or less think as above, and regard government like mostly unwelcome weather: a reality that one must contend with.

I believe that all forms of government (including its absence) are cringe because whatever form it takes, it has to address the fact that 80% of humanity are too fucking stupid to wipe or wash their own asses. Such a system will necessarily be base (not based), gay, retarded, and violent, and treat the 20% as either gods, or the retarded 80%, or some funky combination of both that.

The best answer I have to this Gordian knot of retardation is seasteading, spacefaring, or similar sorts of escaping the ship of fools by being a fool with one's own ship.
