Still can't quite believe my eyesight is so bad now that I have to increase the font size on my computer.
@jeffcliff context?
@jeffcliff grapheneos.org has already been here for a while
@jeffcliff Couldn't she just license it differently such that that's allowed?

I remember reading a Scott Alexander (psychiatrist blogger) post suggesting that methamphetamine isn't that bad when not abused (I.e. taken in high doses, snorted, injected, inhaled, etc) but that he's still not brave enough to prescribe Desoxyn

@thatbrickster why?
@thatbrickster Given that we now have deepfakes and have always had other disinfo techniques, I think it's actually very rational to only accept sources you trust.
@thatbrickster I drink coffee in the afternoons and I stay up late sometimes. Maybe I should get that checked.
@thatbrickster To counterbalance the mainstream news, I meant to say.
@thatbrickster Is this about the Southport stabbings still?
Ideally I would like a neutral unbiased source of news on the topic, but ofc that doesn't exist, so do you know a good alternative, but still fact-based, source that's has more of your slant?

@jeffcliff @thatbrickster I've never understood the idea that non-internal monologue havers are somehow inferior or don't have a soul, etc.

Rationalists always wonder: how come people aren’t more rational? How come you can prove a thousand times, using Facts and Logic, that something is stupid, and yet people will still keep doing it?
Henrich hints at an answer: for basically all of history, using reason would get you killed.

Also, there are definitely areas of the internet where "non-advertiser-friendly" or unwholesome content (not that those things have any real relation to each other) doesn't exist to any noticeable degree but they still don't have ads. Gemini capsules are a good example.

I wonder how often this type of meme is created by a corporate marketing team.
I saw one the other day that showed different grains of coffee by use case (drip, espresso, etc) and one of the levels of grinds was specific to Aeropress but the infographic had no other branding.
Guerrilla branding.
