@wjmaggos It's frustrating realizing that nearly every part of the media narrative has been false. And these people think they're morally qualified to be "fact checking".
We wouldn't need all this "fact checking" if the mainstream media had been telling the truth this whole time, but I guess that's the nature of megacorps and oligopolies and having political parties (both political parties, not being partisan here) being in bed with media companies.

@Jdogg247 Yes. It's too much to ask.
The only way to 100% make sure you don't die tomorrow is to die today. Life is risk, every act carries risk, and pretending you can eliminate all risk is ignorant of reality.
Which we knew, of course. These people live drowning in soma.

@zerohedge I'm getting sick and tired of the media declaring things that are real and official policies "conspiracy theories".
@Linux_in_a_Bit Legaleagle is never even moderately amusing.
But he larps as amusing for a bit. I was fooled for a bit too.

If you invoke your 8th amendment rights because you gotta take a righteous shit, is that a constitutionally required doodie?
@tpostmillennial Anyone kicked out of the Conservative caucus should consider joining the PPC. That would be hilarious. Twice the popular vote of the greens, and potentially more seats.
Of course, you'd have to be disciplined and willing not to be a member of a blue version of the NDP, which a lot of conservative party members might not be willing to do.

@niconiconi I'm imagining a video with the 3 note corporate astroturf music playing in the background and the overly enthusiastic narrator "We at Google are really excited to tell you about some really cool things coming down the pipe. We've been able to find all sorts of efficiencies to drive down costs! What does this mean for you? Well, do you know how everyone talks about how great it is to have Google on their resume? You get to experience it first-hand! You can find out just how many doors having us on your resume helps to open!"
@watson I'd be willing to let the Republicans carry some of the blame since both parties spend without paying for it which is why there's almost 30T in debt right now, but the Biden administration is also sticking their fingers into the economy and specifically breaking supply chains for purely political reasons so fuck 'em.
@matrix Did you know that they have Harry Potter on *phones* now?
I never watched the series or read the books, but it seems like a perfect moment to start.

@parker You can just walk up and take them if you can jump high enough. They're unguarded and not covered by terrestrial laws.
@graf Trump ain't president now. Guess we get to see whether the prosecutors stick with their "get Trump out of office" strategy now.

As opposed to being silenced arbitrarily because some random person decides they don't agree with you. I specifically leave spaces like that.
I see what posts people report. Shameful, but not for those reported.
Sometimes people you don't like says something you don't like. You don't have to like it or endorse it, you just have to tolerate it.
Or not, but I've lived under that sort of tyranny, walking on eggshells all the time. I refuse. I can tolerate people who don't say things I agree with, but I can't tolerate living with a boot on my neck.
That's not the Internet I grew up with.
If I wanted to live like that, I could go crawling back to big tech where people who think they know better than me can ensure I only say things that are doubleplus good.

@thendrix I know, and that's a shame, because without an acquittal, the state is free to try this again.
