Adversary of Fediblock

Accept that I'll probably say something you don't like and I'll give you the same benefit, and maybe we can find some truth about the world.

Ah... Is the Alliteration clever or stupid? Don't answer that, I sort of know the answer already...

The process of making chocolate is really crazy considering the beginning ingredients look like they belong in a sci-fi horror film.

Watch out when you're buying wiimotes, try to get brand name ones. I got some off brand wiimotes, they only work half the time, and when they do work they don't shut off ever. In order to get them to stop running and burning batteries you end up having to take the batteries out.

Besides that, there are a number of really easy ways to get a Wii to run Homebrew. That really makes it a useful device, for example you can use one piece of Homebrew to copy all of your games onto a memory card so you don't need to switch between discs if you want to change games. There's also other games, and a lot of Open source stuff. It's really ideal for certain circumstances because the game controllers are fully wireless.

You guys got it all wrong!

Journalists are supposed to mindlessly and breathlessly report whatever the establishment tells them to. Especially if it's the establishment telling the people who to hate this week, or what reality people are supposed to ignore this week!

The whole "search for truth" thing is so far right you're basically Hitler if you expect that.

I've been reflecting on that a lot lately. Big Tech will specifically show you stuff that has nothing to do with you because it knows it'll "drive engagement", but generally speaking here you're going to find the stuff you follow and the stuff that the people who follow you engage with. Don't want a certain thing? Just stay away from that stuff. Maybe the people you follow might engage sometimes with it in which case you ignore it, but for the most part you'll find yourself in a place you're ok with being in.

I was telling a story recently about Facebook before I deleted my account. It knows I like pretty girls, and it knows I don't use the app much, so it would show me people I have absolutely nothing to do with, these pretty girls, and it would be like "Oh, you know this girl, right? Connect with her now!" -- That's the sort of scummy shit big tech will do to keep you coming back.

The first metric I always look at is battery life. 12 days in smart watch mode isn't bad. For most people charging every couple weeks would be just fine.

The smart watches you need to charge every day are atrocious imo

It's all dead. All of it. Not just this franchise, every franchise any of us ever liked.

Very occasionally, something will come out that isn't dead, and it's a cause for celebration.

I occasionally play terraria multiplayer, and it's shocking that every time we fire it up I need to update the game despite it being like 15 years old.

To me, whether it's left wing or right wing or apolitical, I don't see value in being on another closed platform.

I was hoping the rumor was that they'd stop being a bitch and enable activitypub. That would be hilarious for so many reasons.

1 million users? By what measure, exactly?

The idea is to package up the idea of environmentalism and sell it to people who want to "do something".

I've been highly critical of this sort of thing, and it happens in more ways than most people can possibly imagine, and in more explicit ways than people could possibly imagine.

It isn't a popular way of looking at things, but to me whenever we pay for something with debt we never intend to pay back, we're selling our kids into slavery. They never asked for us to do that any of the stuff we're doing, but they'll be the ones paying for it.

Sometimes people come back with "don't be stupid! Debt the government takes over never needs to be paid back!", But as the United Kingdom and Japan have already found out to an extent and I expect more countries to find out, you can't just continue growing your debt forever.

Admit it: if you saw any one of those pictures under the title "man found in motel room with dead tibetan underage quadruple amputee midget prostitute" you wouldn't be totally surprised.

Not at all! The list is eternally incomplete!

If you oppose hate in all its forms except of course the forms that are considered acceptable by the establishment because those are just and right and good, implement all of fediblock, every last line.

The one thing they don't realize is that those trusted services are trusted because they've been dependable. Once they cannot be relied upon, new systems will be put into place.

At the extreme end, it might even be possible to create something ISPs can't block, though it won't be so easy anymore.
