So.... If industrial grade fusion ends up being commercialized in the near future, how long until it's demonized out of existence because all it does it produce limitless energy from water?
Science is irrecoverably damaged. We all saw that anyone who came to conclusions other than what the establishment wanted were unpersoned. You don't get to do that AND rely on science as a truth seeking tool people trust in.
Yet people try. "Well look at these studies we have! Surely if there was evidence to the contrary people would have published it!"
Do they imagine others are as stupid as they are?

As someone who buys advertising, and someone who occasionally makes content that could potentially be monetized by advertising, I'm totally on board with what you're saying. Enough advertisers are totally scummy and unethical that it's almost wrong not to install adblock on an elderly person's computer.
Why would someone? Add a bunch of overhead so a disk you have potentially becomes unreadable by you if something goes wrong?
My city has been completely out for months. Minor miracle we've been able to get a bottle here and there after going virtually everywhere looking for something.
I always wonder if these death march positions are salaried so overtime is free of charge to the company.
If that's the case, someone who doesn't actually know the actual cost of perpetual overtime might come to the conclusion that it's in their best interest to work everyone to the bone for 23 hours a day and sleeping under the desk.
(Pretty clear in reality that overwhelming data shows overwork rarely results in more and better work)

Musk has the world's largest car company been market cap, and one of the smallest car companies by sales. The reason that he's made so much money is Central economic planning gone absolutely amok, not because any of his companies are particularly good.
Problem is, when you've won so completely by becoming the world's richest man -- even if it's largely unearned -- you start to believe your own hype.
I think that really applies to most of big tech. They think that they are the winners because they are so brilliant, but really they just happened to be in the industry that received unprecedented benefits from the government and from central bank largesse by being the hot new thing during a debt bubble.

There's caffeinated crystal light on amazon that has been a game changer for hydration for me. You can use just a bit to give the water a hint of flavor and it makes it easy to pound back a lot of water.
Musk is one of a lot of people made rich by government policy. The big question will be whether those policies continue after they pretend to fight inflation for a while, and whether they can continue to inflate the souffle using the same policies in the short to medium term, or if another one will take it's place.
I see videos on YouTube "is housing about to crash?"
Which is sort of like seeing a video "will the titanic hit an iceberg?" After it's broken in half....
