Seems you've got two likely outcomes eventually..

1. They start to believe you, and accept that they are what you say, thereby confirming your fears.

2. They no longer care about that thing, and the label loses influence and people stop caring generally about your label

You need people to focus on "be nice" if you don't want them to stand up to people who do bad things.
