Imagine bleeding a toy store to death to pump up your numbers.

It is disgusting.

> the blame is perhaps to be placed most squarely on its private equity ownership. Toys R Us has spent more than $250m a year servicing $5bn in long term debt, which was β€œnot a sustainable situation,”

They don't have a choice when the investors call the shots.

> Investors demand green line go up

Many such cases.

There words are nebulous and arguable, but in that context, this is the core problem with "capitalism" (not to be confused with "free markets").

Capitalism has no concern for wellbeing of the community, employees or even the company. In a way this behavior is parasitic. They end up destroying the host to squeeze more stock gains out of it.

Sometimes actually doing something to change things works.

In retrospect using the word "Demonrats" in enough online arguments did win the election.

Very real video. Lots of the time you want people to think you're broke and deeply in debt because Crabs in a bucket is real and once people think you have money they're like "oh can I borrow some money?" But it isn't a loan, you'll never see that money again. One good reason not just to be frugal, but humble and not braggadocios when you succeed.

What even is this timeline?

This stuff isn't real.

It's slush funds.

When the Uniparty is upset you know you're doing something right

I don't know how someone could look at the advancement of human knowledge over history and draw a line on the timeline at [current year] and be confident that now we know it all.

I wouldn't expect a kindergartener to have an iPad.

They will find ways to convince you the war is necessary:

1. Most of the time the people who choose to start a war are not the ones who stand to lose the most in a war.

2. Most of the time the people who choose to start a war are the ones who stand to gain the most in a war.

3. Most of the time wars are simply about power for those running the show, more than anything close to Justice.

The worst part about war isn't the violence and destruction. It is the legacy lost of men who were willing to fight and die.

> The magnetic field is proven. Spirituality is not.

Proven by humans, but not by birds. It is beyond their comprehension, yet they interact with it, and sense it, but they cannot describe it or prove it.

Some bird out there is insisting they can "feel a power beyond them" and next to them is a bird saying "you got a source for that?"

It is believed that birds navigate when migrating partially by sensing the magnetic field of the earth.

Can they describe that? Can they understand the mechanics of the cross between biology and magnetic fields?

No, but they do sense it.

People often think about "spirituality" and "souls" as an idea or concept. But what if they are physically real, and we simply lack the mental capacity to understand the "how?"

Are there any good graphic novels that cover the American War for Independence?

Are there any good graphic novels that cover the American War for Independence?

"Blowback" is the word that comes to mind..

Is this a good thing?

I don't know anything about him.

I'm assuming he wants war with Iran like everyone?

Never gonna happen.
