@ryanc I mean, it's already legal to identify however you want. Recognition by the government is another thing. I don't know why you seem to want it to be made "official".
Reminds me of my friend's trans girlfriend who once said to me that it should be illegal to call them "he" because "that's how I'm legally recognised" and comparing it to calling a doctor "Dr" (never mind that it's not illegal to call a doctor by a different title lmao).
