Advocate for freedom and tolerance even if you say things I do not like

Adversary of Fediblock

Accept that I'll probably say something you don't like and I'll give you the same benefit, and maybe we can find some truth about the world.

Ah... Is the Alliteration clever or stupid? Don't answer that, I sort of know the answer already...

That's a question for the individual and their risk tolerance and their predictions about what will happen.

If I was 20, a very high % might make a lot of sense because high risk tolerance and not a lot of capital anyway, but if I was 50 I'd probably have a pretty low % because you're going to need the money soon and if you lose it then you're going to lose your ability to retire.

There's a good argument to have crypto as part of your portfolio regardless of whether crypto ends up being relevant or not because it appears to be something somewhat cyclical so there's a way to make lots of money there (The last time to buy was when bitcoin was at 25k, not right now, next buying opportunity should probably be around 30k in the next doomer cycle). But it's something with a very strong likelihood of going to zero, it's a fairly high risk asset so it should be a portion of your portfolio and not the the only part or even the majority of it.

And it turns out your only notification is an ad from some trash app.

It's starting to look like Justin Trudeau is acting like the person the left thinks Trump is but can't prove, but we have proof.

If you are "able" to push the cart to your car, you should be "able" to return it.

But here's the next question: would you return a cart you didn't put there because it's the right thing to do, even though you didn't cause the problem and there's no personal benefit to you for doing so?

On a geological level, the best carbon capture would be animals or microorganisms that form shells out of carbonate, and let the shells sit in bodies of water.

We know from geology that there's entire mountains of carbon captured in that way and it isn't going anywhere. By contrast, a tree will grow for maybe 100 years then die and rot, returning much of its carbon to the atmosphere.

There was a period where trees stored a lot of carbon, it's called the carboniferous period and it's where most of our coal deposits come from, but it ended once fungus learned how to eat cellulose, since the trees were converted into food that was eventually released via metabolism into the air.

Mental health is at its worst level possibly ever.

Not sure why. We have the largest class of experts ever!

That's why the next stop after the multi family home seems to be a tent.

Lol must be nice only working a third of the year to please masa

Mitch McConnell just announced his retirement, saying it's time for the next generation to take over.

The next generation from Mitch McConnell Is the baby boomers.

I can't help but think that apartments in high density buildings could be the lowest cost and thus have people whose rent is directly paid by the government, multi family dwellings like duplexes and quadplexes would be one step above that where working class and lower middle class families might live, and houses would be for solidly middle class people and above.

The positioning would mean that unlike the poor whose government cheques are coming until the tanks roll on the capital, the people in multi family homes could end up either moving out or not paying anymore. In many jurisdictions you could be stuck with a tenant like that for a year or more, not making a penny for the whole time.

I doubt you do family law, but I'm just imagining bringing your kids in and the client is like "fucking kids I hate kids" "ok so how do I get full custody of my kids?"

"Hello neighbor, do you know why I'm so calm all the time? I'm packing a Smith & Wesson Model S&W500, it has 5 .500 rounds in it, and I'm only gonna need one if we have trouble."

I get the same energy about Trump.

"Oh he's so bad (please win please win please win) what a monster (please win please win please win) Literally cheeto hitler himself (oh god I need this please win we're all dying here in mass layoffs)"

I can't help but read that definition and think it's an instinct meant to ensure you play with your children.

Physically playing with babies early on including some level of rough play is extremely positive for them, so the instinct to squeeze and bite without the intention to harm seems like it would facilitate that if you have a parent who intellectually has no idea how to be a parent and instead must rely solely on instinct.

I feel like just saying "dead at 99" reveals the cause of death.

Crazy that none of us knew he had Alzheimer's. He forgot to mention it.

Voting for anyone but dear leader is a threat to our democracy.

98% will vote for Biden because there won't be anyone else on the ballot, just like a proper democracy like North Korea!

Pretty neat media analysis channel. I love me a good media analysis, but often end up drowning in political cliche. This guy talks about political stuff, but it's fresh and nuanced.

Rip PCXL. You shall never be forgotten.
