One of the purposes of the justice system is to ensure people don't take justice into their own hands. If the justice system fails to enact justice, then people will do it themselves. It's quite ugly, which is one reason justifying such a system.

If it was true that solar was the least expensive form of electricity generation, then power bills would drop as more solar is installed. Instead the opposite is universally true.

But if the bad thing would be done either way, then the last sliver of virtue is at least doing the bad thing in a way that implies skill and cunning rather than dumb brute force.
It's like if someone comes up with an amazingly complex heist to rob a bank without anyone being any the wiser or just going in the front door with guns. Don't rob banks obviously, but at least you can respect the skill in a well executed heist.

Really it's like saying you won the hardest puzzle game in the world but all you did was use a guide off of gamefaqs. Just not that impressive compared to figuring it out for yourself.
The more we learn about these celebrities, the less I care about their endorsement. "I got back from my blackmail orgy and read an article saying Trump said something mean on twitter and I got so angry! I almost had to cancel my flight to the next blackmail orgy!"
