We've seen this hissy fit before. When Elon first bought X a bunch came to "mastodon" and lasted a week of nobody gives a fuck about Kathy Gifford without algorithmic boosting for doubleplus goodthink until they go crawling back to their crackhouse.
Even under Musk the crack is still right there for the smoking.

Protip: once the communist regime has taken over, they tend to outlaw being gay, and they become incredibly racist.
No, I don't care we're still not doing it.

"piss in the drawer? Who the hell designed this puzzle? How was I supposed to figure that one out?!"
But for real, family is more important than the state, and those bonds are what remain even when nations fall, so try to find some grace and look for common ground with family however you can if your only real differences are politics. Hey, you all like turkey (except for crazy uncle frank), don't you?
I'm on my second amazfit bip (45 day battery life!), and since I found it gadgetbridge has always been the app I use.
Besides working at least as good as the apps that come with the watch, being FOSS I don't need to worry about what information it's sending to a shenzen server farm.

A sword is a romantic weapon, but for essentially all of human history other weapons were the bread and butter of war. Bows and arrows were significant but unromantic, spears were often the main arm for soldiers, and despite the romantic image of a knight with a gleaming sword, knights would be hard-pressed to fight one another with a sword since their armor would render them virtually impervious to such weapons, you'd need something like a Warhammer or morning star to impact through the armor plate. Even samurai, their katanas iconic around the world, typically used different weapons in war.
Consider the quintessential sword story, the three musketeers: they had a lot of swordfighting in the stories, but what weapon would you expect a musketeer to use? (Hint: a musket!)

Michigan democrats were going to vote for a bill that gives all their electoral votes to the candidate who wins the national popular vote, but shelved the bill, presumably because the Republicans just won the popular vote and they assumed that was impossible.
Like magic, suddenly Michigan democrats can accurately describe the purpose of the electoral college! Amazing!

You know, I think you're on to something with that train of thought.
I think a lot of the things these folks are projecting their anxieties on are just because it's easier to think there's one bad guy responsible for everything going on than to think about the fact that if you want a home you probably wont' get one, if you want a family you probably won't get one, if you want a community it's impossible to engage with one, and it's a result of a secular cycle (Secular cycles here refer to very long term cycles in civilizations) we're at the end of and there's nothing you can do about it.
I think the histrionic reaction to climate change (which we measure in at around 1.4 degrees per century) is another manifestation of the same thing. People feel deep anxiety in a world where almost nobody is hitting basic life goals, and so they find an acceptable outlet for that anxiety. The level of terror expressed by some people is not commensurate with the actual urgency of the threat, but it's something to focus on other than the real problems people face that don't have a simple face.

You know there's a cost of saying stuff like that, I'm always glad to see another one is willing to pay the price and say what they believe.
Honestly, right now it's looking like a true revolution. Exciting times for the US, and I have hope already that 2024 won't be anything like 2016.

How will people keep up to date on their suspension bridge related news while also seeing the new octopussoir in bio bots?
I pray for the future prosperity of Argentina, and I pray that what Milei has down down there can be replicated up here in Soviet Canuckistan after Castro's bastard son gets kicked out.
